Neat features in old houses

You can find these light fixtures at rejuvenation lighting.   I love showing houses that have all the details correct.

There are some old-fashioned things that I love to see in modern homes. These push button light switches are one of them.

Yes, I know the advantages of the swish of a finger on a pad, or the tap that will return the exact degree of lighting when you leave the room, but ...

You don't have to figure out what and where to touch the switch. Just push the button that' sticking out the most.

There's also something wonderfully rewarding from the feel of pressing the switch.

These are switches (with shiny brass face plates) in a $799,000 restored 1912 home in Old Pasadena in St Petersburg Florida.
